Pete has been working in penal institutions since 2001 when he was Artist in Residence at HMP Birmingham for 3 months as part of the Arts Council's 'Year of the Artist'. Since then he has worked regularly with juvenile and young offenders, in remand centres and in the Reaside Clinic - a medium secure unit in Birmingham. Since 2014 he has been working with Choirs Beating Time a charity who runs choirs in prisons, aiming to improve self-confidence, increase wellbeing, develop social skills and enhance employability on release. He currently leads choirs in four Midlands prisons.
